Robots III : Expanding Functionality I

The designs I selected this week are both small gadgets that use an internet connection to expand the functionality of other products in simple, useful ways. This first one spoke to me because the problem of designing a way for people with hypermobile joints to open doors was still fresh in my mind. This micro robot modifies existing physical switches, and allows them to be activated remotely. This is not only useful for productivity and multitasking, but a similar device could also be used to modify door handles, simplifying the life of someone who has difficulty opening doors.
